On a farm twenty miles south of Grant Friday morning, James Jones and Joseph Rowley quarreled over a line fence. The former went to his house, returned with his rifle and fired at the latter, killing him instantly, the bullet penetrating his heart. The shooting was witnessed by Mr. Rowley’s two sons. Jones was arrested by the sheriff of Chase County and taken to Imperial.
